We love Wriight's Fishing Derby with all our heart. Best mix of flatlanders and locals of any event. Families and friends have a blast out on the ice. The number of Fishing Shanties doubles during the tournament. We catch a whole lot of fish - and some really, really big ones, like a record breaking 44 inch Northern Pike caught this year. Just a few years ago, state bilogists said there were no Northern Pike in our lake. Hah. Right again. (Just like when they said there were no Catamounts in the Green Mountain state). The dinner on Saturday night is the social event of the winter, Great food. Great People. Great Raffle. Great Prizes. Only question we have about all of this. Why do fishermen wear cammo?
