Run, Bike, and Swim The Kingdom

On almost any given weekend during the Spring, Summer and Fall there is a running, biking, swimming, or kayaking event in the Heart of the Northeast Kingdom.  Then we hit the six months of snow, the skiis come down from the garage ceiling, and we're sliding and gliding and shushing all over the place.  Here's the list of running, biking, and swimming events we have collected so far.  Many, but not all, of the summer events are hosted by Indoor Recreation Orleans County (IROC) as part of it's Kingdom Summer Games, but there are plenty of other hosts of some wonderful events.  We are proud of The Kingdom's place as a mecca of sorts for the widest possible variety of outdoor recreational "summer" events that, in addition to great local participation, are now drawing thousands of runners, bikers, and swimmers each year from all over the nation and all over the world to Run, Bike, and Swim The Kingdom.

May 19, 2012 – The Fourth Annual Dandelion Run –   We can say without hesitation that “The Dandy” is the most beautiful, most fun, and most challenging half marathon in the northeast. Dirt roads, dandelion fields, fiddle, blue grass, and old country music at every relay station. Plus a 10K run/walk option.   It’s May!  It’s Time to Run!  Just for the Fun of it!
